Los solicitantes están invitados a proponer una serie de trabajos exploratorios con resultados públicos. Buscan prácticas experimentales, enfoques innovadores y experimentales en la performance contemporánea y propuestas que cuestionan las concepciones contemporáneas.
Con este nuevo modelo, la residencia toma la forma de una serie de “eventos” o resultados públicos, que ilustran las etapas del trabajo en curso.
Las obras resultantes podrían adoptar la forma de intervenciones, proyectos sociales o comprometidos con la comunidad, performances, talleres, obras efímeras, happenings, conferencias, presentaciones, producciones teatrales u otros eventos.
Aplicación
La residencia está abierta a artistas visuales contemporáneas que no viven en el Reino Unido, incluyendo aquellos inmersos en las prácticas curatoriales, y que trabajen en cualquier medio.
Los solicitantes que trabajen en parejas o pequeños grupos pueden también aplicar, pero deben tener en cuenta que la residencia cubre los costes y espacio para un artista, por lo que cualquier apoyo financiero adicional necesario tendrá que ser asegurado por los solicitantes.
Los artistas que apliquen deben tener un buen nivel de inglés, y deben sentirse cómodos participando en discusiones artísticas en inglés.

This new residency at Gasworks aims to support the development of art practices that might not normally thrive within existing residency models.
Applicants are invited to propose a series of exploratory works with public outcomes. We are looking for experimental practices, innovative and experimental approaches to contemporary performance, and proposals that question contemporary understandings of these terms.
With this new model, the residency can be less studio-based with process instead taking precedent, in the form of a series of ‘events’ or public outcomes, illustrating stages of work-in-progress. The resulting works could take the form of interventions, community or socially engaged projects, performances, workshops, ephemeral works, happenings, lectures, presentations, theatrical productions or other event-based activities.
Application
The residency is open to non-UK based contemporary visual artists, including those with curatorial practices, working in any medium.
Applicants working in pairs or small groups may apply, but please note that the residency provision covers the costs and space for one artist to undertake the residency, so any extra financial support required will need to be secured by the applicants themselves.
Applying artists should have a good level of spoken English, and should feel comfortable engaging in artistic discussions in English.
